headquarters because the spblgt used to be one of their own. christopher dorner is wanted in multiple shootings spanning six days. the 33-year-old said he's declaring war with the lapd after losing his job. according to his late and rambling manifesto, he wants to revenge until his name is clear. he writes the violence of action will be high. i will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare. dorner is accused of killing a couple and shooting at two police officers killing one of them. his vehicle was found in the big bear area, so far no sign of the man police describe as armed and dangerous. nbc's stephanie stanton has more from los angeles. >> reporter: this burned out truck belonging to suspect christopher dorner was found in the mountains two miles east of los angeles. but dorner himself was nowhere to be found. >> dorner is considered armed and extremely dangerous. >> reporter: dorner posted aing lengthy manifesto on facebook detailing threats against police officers he intended to kill. dorner claims he was treated unfairly when fired from the l.a. police department in 2008.

understandinging. nbc chapman bell joins us live from south africa. chapman, good morning. what's happening in court today? >> reporter: good morning, mara. well, yesterday was a not so great day for oscar pistorius in court. today doesn't seem to be going well for him either. yesterday, the prosecution claimed that it was a premeditated murder. and the magistrate at this point is going along with this claim. now, today on the stand, they've had the lead investigator giving evidence, saying why he agrees with the prosecution that this is in fact a premeditated crime. they're really focusing on how the shots were fired through the bathroom door. striking reeva steenkamp and killing her. and this is essential, really, to their claim that it was premeditated. that he walked with a purpose to fire the bullets through the door killing miss steenkamp. also, in addition to all of this, they as decided they want to add additional charges. those of unlicensed firearm ammunition found in the home. so this is not striking up so great. they are taking a break, however, because his lawyers wan

hearings. nbc's jim maceda joins us from london. what can we expect today? >> reporter: good morning, mara. that's right, we may learn in the coming hour if oscar pistorius, that world famous double amputee sprinter will be freed on bail or not. i may because before that happens the prosecution and defense will be making their final argument, and based on the past three or four days that could take all day. not getting bail, mara, would clearly be a blow to pistorius. he and his coach want to get back on the track. they want to prepare mentally for this trial. but also because the momentum seems to be going so much in pistorius' favor especially after yesterday's bombshell when we learned that the lead investigator, the guy laying out the case against pistorius is himself facing seven charges in a case of murder dating back to 2009. now, the defense has already picked apart the investigator's facts to the point that he had to admit that pistorius' story is plausible that he shot and killed the girlfriend, reeva steenkamp by mistake, thinks her an intruder through the bathroom window. the p
